Fashion and Pantone 2017

Another year is approaching us and it’s time to focus on what’s important: Pantone’s new Color of the Year. Last year saw two colors, Rose Quartz and Serenity, chosen to enhance the feelings of tranquility and peace. This year’s color, Greenery, is all about revival and energy from nature. As a lover of nature and a supporter of making more sustainable choices, I’m instantly a fan of this color, and it’s not just the meaning behind it. This shade of green isn’t dark and heavy like forest green or bright like the yellow-green of an apple, but it still seems vibrant and deep. Leatrice Eiseman, the Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute, says it best: “Greenery bursts forth in 2017 to provide us with the reassurance we yearn for amid a tumultuous social and political environment. Satisfying our growing desire to rejuvenate and revitalize, Greenery symbolizes the reconnection we seek with nature, one another, and a larger purpose.” A few selections I’ve found from Braintree Clothing, Passion Lilie, Fashion ComPassion, and Fortress of Inca show just how much fashion is committing to this color and its purpose.

Greenery is going to be interesting to work in- I have some green, but not a ton, and I don’t reach for it often. Especially a brighter green like this!

I don’t think of wearing green this bright either, but it seems like there’s a lot of fashion out there with this color. I’m going to have to incorporate more of it into my style soon too. 🙂

I’m a huge green color fan! In fact it’s my second favorite color, yet I still don’t have that much of it in my closet. I think that retailers haven’t had it on the shelves in quite awhile!
But I’m so glad that’s going to change!

Brooke I too am loving this color much more than last years dusty rose. This one is so full of life and in tune with nature.

I agree! I liked Serenity and Rose Quartz, but Greenery is very refreshing.

I love this year’s color choice and it fits perfectly with our decor style too. My only problem is that I don’t have a lot of green in my closet, but that’s going to change soon 😉

I’ve realized I don’t have tons of green either, but perhaps that will change too. I have a lot in my accessories though ;).
