With the beginning of a New Year means one important thing. I’m not talking about the resolutions you’ve set for the year or the celebrations this past weekend for New Year’s Eve, instead I’m referring to Pantone’s latest announcement of the Colors of the Year: Rose Quartz and Serenity. If you’re a designer or appreciate the meaning behind design, you’ll understand my excitement in finding the purpose behind these choices. Leatrice Eiseman, Pantone’s Executive Director, illustrates that the deeper meaning of these selections is to create a sense of order and peace through Rose Quartz’s warmth and Serenity’s tranquil tone. Curious about these colors, I’ve done a quick search to find how sustainable and ethical fashion companies have taken on these hues. To my delight, I discovered a wealth of possibilities from around the world and have included my favorites from NOVICA, Faire Collection, Passion Lillie, People Tree, Indego Africa, and Braintree Clothing.
What do you think of Pantone’s 2016 Colors? What are your favorites from these collections?
